Hello, I’m passionate about empowering people to make positive change and I thrive off having the privilege to be a part of somebody’s success story; I’m friendly, approachable and non judgemental.

I have personal experience with hypnotherapy which absolutely transformed my life. This experience had me intrigued by the power of the mind, bringing me to the realisation that through hypnotherapy and NLP, I could enable positive change for anyone!! I’m fully insured in all aspects of the therapies and techniques that I use. 

I trained with the highly regarded ‘Annette Brown School of Hypnotherapy’; I’m a fully qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist and NLP Coach, accredited by and registered with the GHR (General Hypnotherapy Register) and the ACCPH (Accredited Counsellors, Coaches, Psychotherapists and Hypnotherapists). This provides me with professional status, it guarantees potential clients that I am trained and accredited to a high standard, and assures I abide by the ethical code of conduct.

I achieved a BA Honours Degree in Childhood Studies and have enjoyed a 20 year career enabling and empowering children, young people and adults with severe and profound multiple complex needs to take as much control as possible to make positive change in their lives. I have worked in education and care, as well as strategically embedding person centred practices across mental health and learning disability services on a national level.

How The Sessions Work

Each course of treatment consists of either 3 or 6 sessions dependant on the severity of your issue; this can be agreed during your free initial consultation.

All chargeable sessions are £70 per session to be paid for in advance. But with a 10% discount if you pay upfront for a block of sessions.

  • 1 session – £70 
  • 3 sessions – £210 (£189 block discount)
  • 6 sessions – £420  (£378 block discount)
 

This takes approximately 30 minutes.

During the consultation I will explain to you the process of hypnotherapy and you’ll have the opportunity to ask me any questions that you have.

I will also be seeking to understand your current issues and your goals along with a basic understanding of your personal history.

At the end of the consultation we will agree next steps and book your first session if you decide to go ahead.

Please note: there is no obligation to book in after your initial consultation if you feel that what I offer is not what you are looking for.

Can last up to 1 hour and 30 minutes.  

 

I will be digging a bit deeper into your issue and personal history; I need to get as much information as I can in your own words so that your subsequent sessions will be truly bespoke to your needs and wishes. During this first session I will guide you into a hypnotic trance so you can enjoy your first personalised session.

Can last between 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes.

 

These will consist of; feedback from you on your progress, NLP techniques and hypnosis to target your desired outcome.

 

The feedback I get from you at each session will determine how I plan and prepare for the next, your progress will be driven by you.

Unfortunately in the event of a cancellation, only 50% of your payment will be refundable.

Understanding the Mind

Scientists describe the conscious part of your mind as the ‘objective mind’, meaning this is the part of your mind that can reason and make choices.

For example, choosing the music you like to listen to, your home and your friends, and rejecting anything it believes not to be true. 

However, it may surprise you to learn that your conscious mind, your ‘reasoning’ mind occupies just 5-12%. 

This means the subconscious controls a staggering 88-95% of your mind!

 

It manages all of your bodily functions such as; your heart beating, your breathing, your digestive workings and your eyes blinking, all with perfect precision and all without the awareness of your conscious mind. The subconscious also manages the sensations throughout your body, I bet before you made the conscious decision to read this, you may have not been aware of the feeling of your feet touching the floor, or your back against the chair?

 

Unlike the conscious part of your mind, your subconscious does not reason or argue, it is like a sponge which absorbs all information good and bad, true or false. It is a storehouse of memory, years of conscious thoughts, experiences and observations which has programmed the way you think, the way you feel, and the way you behave.

By taking control of your subconscious mind, by becoming aware and in sync with it, you can be sure to take back control of your life and achieve anything you want to. That’s because when your conscious mind and your subconscious mind is working in synergy to achieve a common goal, it will happen.

Hypnotherapy FAQ

What is Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy?

The most important thing to remember is the hypnotherapy you see on stage shows or TV is entertainment, and not clinical hypnotherapy. They are two very different things and so you mustn’t get the two confused.

  • Hypnosis is a natural state of relaxation which you may feel during normal every day activities such as when you are watching a film or when you are completing tasks on auto pilot.  A good example is not remembering the specific details of a car journey even though you have travelled from A to B.
  • Because it is such a natural state of mind, anyone can enter a hypnotic trance – As with anything in life, some people will enter trance more readily than others, but I will work with you to achieve this through relaxation techniques.
  • When in a hypnotic trance, most people will feel deeply relaxed and calm. It is a very pleasant, relaxing experience. Each individual experiences different feelings which can include sensations of floating, heaviness, tingling, or numbness. Visuals of abstract shapes and colours are also common during hypnotherapy, but it’s different for everyone.
  • Hypnosis cannot make you do or say anything you do not want to do, you are completely in control at all times.
  • You cannot get “stuck” in a hypnotic trance.
How Does Hypnotherapy Work?

You may have heard the saying ‘repeat the same actions, expect the same results’, which makes complete sense and sounds like an easy fix, right?  However, if we don’t change our thought processes, perceptions, inner dialogue and how we feel, then it is very difficult to change our actions. Coming from a hypnotherapy standpoint the saying should be ‘repeat the same thinking, expect the same actions, get the same results’.

 

The subconscious mind is where a person’s life time of social and environmental conditioning is influencing the way we think, feel and behave.  In order to make your conscious desired change, we need to synergise your conscious and subconscious mind to restore balance. 

 

This can be achieved by accessing and communicating with the subconscious, however when we are in an alert state it is difficult to bypass the critical part of your mind (the conscious) and so the subconscious cannot be accessed. 

 

As we drift into a hypnotic trance, our conscious minds relax so much so that the subconscious mind becomes more accessible. This is the point where suggestions can be introduced which result in the desired lasting change.

What is NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming)?

NLP produces rapid results so I will often use it alongside hypnotherapy as it can be very effective!

NLP can be likened to ‘software for the brain’.  The aim is to install new thought processes, perceptions and inner dialogue, so you can alter your behaviour and ultimately achieve your desired results.

How does NLP work?

Like hypnosis, NLP requires access to your subconscious.  So in the same way as with hypnotherapy, you will relax and be guided through techniques which aim to change your thinking. This is a more conscious process than full hypnotherapy, so the NLP techniques will be used at the start of the session and then re-enforced once you are taken into hypnosis.

How effective will hypnotherapy and NLP be?

Hypnotherapy and NLP are not a magic wand which you can use to do something to somebody.  The process is about working together; think of it as a coaching experience rather than therapy.  Both client and coach are committed to the process and most importantly, the client needs to be motivated to make the changes they are searching for. Results can vary from person to person and the number of sessions undertaken can also vary from person to person. Anything that we discuss will be kept confidential.
